When Garth Brooks announced almost two years ago now, he was going to be heading out on tour I knew it would be a bucket list concert I would have to check off! I am fortunate enough that I have been able to catch him twice since being out on tour. Last year we road tripped down to Buffalo and then we just caught him in Hamilton last week. Garth and his wife Trisha Yearwood played 5 shows in four nights at First Ontario centre and if you had your hands on one of the hottest tickets you were a lucky fan and was treated to such an amazing entreating night!
Brett Kissel was honoured to be asked to open for Garth and it was exciting he was added to Garth’s show. Kissel took the stage with his guitar and got the party started and I was definitely feeling his Airwaves! I have now seen him play twice and I am definitely looking forward to more Brett Kissel live! He’s an incredible Canadian artist!
Garth took the stage to a silhouette and fans who have been waiting 25 years to see him live erupted when he then appeared. Garth is an extremely entertaining artist. He runs back and forth all over his stage making sure to acknowledge his fans, including is fan in his show, exuding so much energy and excitement. He played his classics and some of his newer music from Man against the Machine. But it’s the Garth classics that the fans came to hear and that is what he gave us.
Garth mid-way through the evening took a much needed break and let his wife Trisha Yearwood entertain us for awhile. Trisha taking the stage to XX’x OO’s her well loved and known song from Trisha’s Kitchen had everyone singing along. Trisha had just recently filmed a re-making of the Passion of the Christ, which was very well done! She sang some of her own music, but included some songs from the film. They were so powerful and moving Trisha did such a fantastic job!
Garth then joined Trisha back on stage and the couple sang together before he took it fully back over. You gotta love Garth and Trisha the loving duo, you can feel their love and see their passion and appreciation for what they do and one another on stage and through their music! I love that they conclude the night back on stage and sing Walk Away Joe then ending with a hug and kiss before walking of the stage hand in hand! Now that is true love!
I am happy to have checked off Garth Brooks on my concert bucket list!!! Definitely not disappointed and fully entertained and would do it all over again!!!
