Brett Kissel with Eric Ethridge; We Were That Song Tour

You would have never guessed that it was a Sunday night when Brett Kissel made a stop in Huntsville Ont., at Deerhurst Resort on The We Were That Song Tour. Our town threw down with Kissel and the band like it was a Friday or Saturday night. On this stop of the tour and including 5 others, Brett had Eric Ethridge along in the opening slot. This was extremely exciting for him out on the road opening for Kissel as it was his first time being apart of any tour. This too was exciting for me personally as we have watched Eric grow into the artist that he has become over the last few years and we couldn’t be happier for him. Eric took the stage with his brother Mike and good friend and bandmate Scott. Literally the guys were grinning ear to ear so happy to be here on tour opening for Brett Kissel and this showed in their set. Eric has amazing stage presence and a lot of energy. His voice is incredible and the crowd was really taken and they swooned over his cover of Dan & Shay’s Tequila. This can also be said when he played his hit California which now has over a million streams on Spotify, Congratulations Eric! This may have been his very first time out on tour but it definitely won’t be his last and we can’t wait to see more from him!

With the crowd warmed up Brett Kissel and his band than took the stage. From that very moment the crowd was on their feet, many out of their seats making their way to the front of the stage and in the aisles. They were there indeed to party with Kissel and his crew. Opening with We Were That Song he had everyone singing right along, just as the song is meant to do. They rolled right along through their set playing earlier hits and more from the current album. Brett even invited Eric back out on stage to sing Raise Your Glass together and the two of them made quite an amazing duo! Slowing down only briefly at one point to play Tough People Do and I Didn’t Fall In Love With Your Hair, which we’re both emotional and also magical. He then kicked the party back up with one of my favourites Airwaves and then into a fun medley of songs including Shaina Twain’s hit Man I Feel Like A Woman. They played a few more covers and some more of his own hits including his most recent Anthem. They took a short break only to return for an encore to conclude what was one amazing and special night at Deerhurst resort. Kissel and his band have so much fun and energy on stage it’s truly incredible and such a great show they put on for their fans.

Congratulations to Brett Kissel and his team as The We Were That Song Tour has made history as the most extensive Canadian Country Tour. Thank you for including our town Huntsville on this very special tour!
