Boots and Hearts one of the most epic weekends of the summer began a week ago at Burl’s creek event ground. The Coors Banquet Kick off party definitely kicked things off in a big way and began one of the best weekends of the summer! It has been expressed all over social media over the last couple of days as Boots and Hearts withdrawals have set in and everyone has been reminiscing about their epic weekend with all our thoughts lingering back at Burls Creek. It’s always hard to come back to reality after the biggest party of the summer! Well It was a beautiful hot summer’s night for a Coors Banquet Kickoff party, the bevys were flowing and everyone was pumped as BH5 was set to kickoff! Our hosts for the evening The Reklaws along with Country 105 kept the night rolling.
Johnson Crook got to take the Front Porch stage first and got the night going as they kicked off BH5. They were so thankful to boots for having them back. These guys harmonize amazing together and have incredible voices. They are set to release their self titled debut album be sure to check it out!
Meghan Patrick as always thrilled us with her Grace and Gritt. Meghan came to BH to rock out and Be Country and we all sure did! I loved when she rocked out to Dolly Parton’s Jolene. This girl gave it her all and looked like she had an absolute blast up on stage! She’s got the looks, killer talent and one hell of a voice! Meghan’s the real deal and I bet we will see her up on the big stage next!
Tebey was up next and continued the party kicking things off with Wake Me Up, although I’m pretty sure nobody needed to be woken up as the party was jacked up! Especially when Tebey played his new hit single Old School and everyone was jammin’ right along! He rocked some covers including Garth Brooks Friends In Low Places and played some more of his own hits. Appropriately finishing of his set with his BH emerging artist song, Somewhere In The Country. It was a perfect finish to an awesome set!
Next up to continue the kickoff party was Emerson Drive. These guys have helped kick off their party before and they were happy to be back! These guys had Boots and Hearts spinning like a Tilt A Whirl! They definitely had us rollin’ as they cranked out their hit Let It Roll. They asked “How many people are camping here at BH? Well all of you deserve a round of an applause!” The crowd reacting very highly to this, as it is such a true statement! They played many of their hits, I Love This Road, She’s My Kinda Crazy, but my favourite had to be Countrified Soul.
We were now set for a summer’s Barefoot Blue Jean kinda of night with Jake Owen. I absolutely love how he runs around the stage and does his set barefoot! He has the perfect songs and stage set up to match the perfect summers night, with big palm trees and a tiki bar. He played all his hits like Real Life, Anywhere With You and The One That Got Away. He played some covers and took a quick break. When Jake returned to the stage he said “Wow, the best crowd I’ve ever played for I swear I just said that back stage! Boots and Hearts you guys rock!” Then finishing his fun energetic set he finished up with the one and only Barefoot Blue Jean Night! It was perfect!
