Boots & Hearts Day 3

It was another HOT day at Boots & Hearts but it was another full day of solid music!

Although the James Barker Band were not on day three’s schedule, they made a pop up appearance at the SiriusXM Fan Fair Village Stage. Having the boys of James Barker band take the stage on this hot day to get a little Lawn Chair Lazy was awesome! As usual these boys have a lot fun and they drew quite the crowd to this stage, one of the biggest we had seen!

MacArthur Clarke kicked things off on the main stage on yet another very beautiful and hot day. He’s got a great rock and blues feel to his music. MacArthur has got  very powerful, strong vocals and he’s got great energy on stage! I hear he’s been in Nashville recording, so I am sure we should be on the lookout for good things to come from him!

Jo Jo Mason making his Boots and Hearts debut rocked the main stage. He was so excited to be at BH as he said he had heard lots about the festival and was looking forward to this date on the calendar for awhile! He played his hit single debut release It’s All Good and of course his new hit Red Dress.  He had the crowd singing right along! Boots and Hearts had a Good Kinda Love for Jo Jo! He had an awesome set!

Madeline Merlo was next to take the main stage and she came out blazing on a drum to her new hit War Paint. It was an incredible beginning to her amazing set! She then said to the crowd “Yeah it’s Boots day! I woke up and was excited because it’s Boots Day and I’ve been looking forward to this show all year! I’m so excited to be here!” Madeline  has such a beautiful sweet voice and my absolute favourite is when she plays Sinking Like A Stone on her ukulele!

We caught Raquel Cole on the Front Porch stage and very glad we did! She has a lot of talent with a beautiful voice and a flair for the guitar! Raquel is new to the country music scene having won last year the CCMA Discovery Artist Showcase but you would never know with her confidence on stage. She played many covers but also some of her own, including her hit It’s For Real This Time.

Aaron Pritchett was absolutely amazing on stage! He had a blast while pumping out hit after hit and engaging with the crowd. He had the crowd singing along to fan favourites Hold My Beer, (while holding a beer lol) Let’s Get Rowdy and Boat On The Water. This was Pritchett’s first time at boots and he said, “I have heard that this is the best festival in Canada and I can see why! So glad to finally be able to play here, this crowd is amazing!” Having just released his latest album The Score he played a few songs from the new album, Dirt Road In ‘Em and Out Of The Blue. This was one of the most fun and entertaining performances of the weekend! Thank you Aaron for joining us at Boots and Hearts!

Dean Brody in his lumber jack shirt took the stage full of energy to Bounty. He had such a great set rolling through his many hits even attributing Boots or should I say Canadian Girls. Once again the crowd took over and Dean even joined in on a little Blue Jays chant it was one of the best all weekend! As the sun set he played one his latest hits Monterey and it was picture perfect. Dean definitely Brought Down The House at Boots and Hearts!

Saturday nights headliner was Blake Shelton and he was pumped to be back at Boots and Hearts and so was the crowd. Blake was very entertaining and engaging with the crowd throughout his whole set. He played right through the years of his many recorded songs. Playing from his early years, one of my favourites, Austin also a fan favourite as the crowd echoed back it was amazing! Another crowd favourite, he had everyone singing and dancing along to was the one and only Footloose. He even played from his latest album, She’s Got A Way With Words. It was a great show as he rolled through the years of hit after hit!
