Get A Little Crazy with Tim Hicks
Having always been a Tim Hicks fan, I was definitely not missing out on his first headlining tour across Canada. I have been a long time fan and supporter of his music. I have seen Tim perform from the Cadillac lounge & Gabby’s in Toronto, to a free concert in Toronto at the waterfall stage in the path on my lunch hour, the night he kicked off Boots and Hearts 2013, where I have seen him as well. Needless to say I have seen him a time or two. Well this time we caught him in Oshawa at the General Motors centre on the last night of his Get A Little Crazy Tour and man oh man was it ever a little crazy!
The night kicked off with Jason Benoit up and coming artist from the east coast and after seeing him live, I believe it is definitely safe to say we will be seeing more from him! He had a great set and loved hearing his new single Cold Day Coming live!
Up next was Cold Creek County and they rocked the house! If you ever have a chance to check these guys out live, make it happen! Yet another awesome band out of central Ontario who knows how to rock it live! Very appropriately playing Our Town in these local boys neck of the woods, it was amazing listening to the crowd sing along! Also, love Till The Wheels Come Off and that night I believe they did for so many of us!
Taking the stage next was the man himself on his very first headlining tour, Mr. Tim Hicks. From the moment he took the stage he had the audience on their feet and completely owned and rocked that stage and the crowd! Tim is a true entertainer! A couple nice surprises from Tim was having Jeff Coplan of Black Jack Billy take the stage with him, Jeff has produced both of Tim’s albums. It was awesome having the two play a couple songs together. The other awesome surprise was when Tim pretty much made a concert announcement of returning to the stage at Boots and Hearts. He then had the whole crowd chanting BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS! I actually met him at the corral later that night where he made a guest appearance and I asked him about his “announcement” and word for word he said “I am not at liberty to say but nor am I denying but if you have tickets to Boots I will see you there!” It made my night! And it was about a week later when the official announcement came that he will indeed be back at Boots and we can’t wait to see him back on that main stage where he belongs as Tim is one hell of a performer!!!
